No shame; let's give them a better home. I use card-safe, PVC-free sleeves, then a suitable binder or a rigid holder for cards that need extra protection. Don't cram pockets or put an unsleeved card straight into a tight holder. Keep everything dry, out of direct sunlight, and away from heat. You can protect a collection well without buying the fanciest accessories in the store.
