Because the back can show wear the front photo hides. I look around the edges and corners, then ask for angled photos if the surface isn't clear. It isn't about finding fault with somebody's card; it's about both people understanding what they're buying or trading. A nice front deserves a look, and a clear back helps finish the conversation.
