I want to preorder something but there's so much pressure to lock it in now. What do you check first?

I check the exact product, total cost, seller history, cancellation terms, and what happens if their supply is reduced or delayed. I also ask whether I'd still want it after the excitement settles. A preorder is a commitment to a seller's terms, not just a place in line. If those terms are unclear, I wait rather than let the countdown make the decision for me.
