I wish age did all the work for us. Older cards can still be common, and condition makes a big difference. I check the exact printing, any relevant edition stamp, and the wear before pricing it in our app. Some ordinary-looking cards deserve a closer look, so don't toss anything just because it isn't shiny. Age gives us a reason to investigate, not a number to put on the binder.
