I've been setting all the trainer and energy cards aside because I thought nobody collected those. Was that a bad assumption?

I'd give them a second look. People collect favorite characters, unusual artwork, and different printings of Trainer and Energy cards too, and players need them. Some are ordinary extras; some deserve individual attention. I check interesting versions in our app before putting them into bulk. The first question is which card it is, not whether there's a Pokémon in the picture.
