guy wants to trade using a screenshot from a few months ago because that's what he paid. How do I say that seems off without being a jerk?

I'd say, “Let's check both cards together so we're using the same information.” We use the infinitepulls.com app as our current starting point and look at comparable sales when needed. What either person paid is part of their history, but it doesn't automatically set today's trade value. Keep the conversation about the cards and the reference, rather than who's right.
