I'd give myself permission to let it go. Another interested buyer may be real, but that doesn't remove your need to identify the card, check the reference in our app, and understand the transaction. A deal that only works if you skip your usual checks is one I can live without. You should feel informed before paying, not relieved that the pressure finally stopped.
