I'd inspect it outside the outer holder, then carefully in a clean replacement sleeve if needed. Worn plastic can hide or imitate surface issues. Don't scrub the card to test a mark. That reminds me of @TradeNightTina asking about slab scratches. First, figure out which surface you're seeing.
